Melody & Colby’s gorgeous fall Wedding at Peach Creek Ranch in
College Station TX
Melody & Colby’s Wedding Day was a DREAM! These two high-school sweethearts were destined to have the most PERFECT Wedding day.
I always try to arrive early on Wedding Days. This gives me time to acclimate and scope out the scenery. This gorgeous November day was no different!
I headed inside The Barn first. I always love to see how the design of the Reception is laid out…and knowing my girl Mary Beth with Urban Rubbish was inside working her magic, I couldn’t WAIT to see!
When I walked in it did not disappoint! The color scheme was amazing, with warm tones mixed with the most perfect blue goblets from one of my fave rental companies Party Time Rentals. The design was just stunning.
And the florals did not disappoint! Is anyone else as obsessed with Pampas Grass as I am?! I loved that it was incorporated in the design theme throughout the florals both inside, on the Ceremony arch as well as in the bouquets! YES PLEASEEEE!
After gushing over the design, I headed over to say hi to our gorgeous Bride, Melody. Saying hi to the Bride and starting on Details is one of my favorite parts of the day!
The giggles coming from inside the Bridal Cottage were just too cute! The girls were having so much fun getting dolled up and ready. I grabbed the details and got to work!
Once I start on that it seems like the rest of the day just falls into place. All of the sudden we were getting Melody in her gown. During this time I always have my second shooter (this was one of the amazing girls on the RDP Team, Jericka) hanging out with the Groom capturing him as he hangs out with his Groomsmen and we make sure to capture him “getting ready” too! The day does focus alot on Brides, but we think it’s super important the Grooms get attention too! They’re kind of a big part of the whole thing;)
Then it was off to portraits of Melody with her Bridesmaids and Colby with his Groomsmen…and then…
We planned for a “First Touch”, which if you aren’t familiar with the term, is when the Bride & Groom have a moment where they don’t see each other but they hold hands. Usually around a door, or the side of a building etc! Most couples take this time to help with the Wedding Day jitters and some pray together! If you don’t want to include a First Look, I highly recommend this little variation! It’s just a really sweet moment.
We brought Colby out, and then brought Melody…y’all Colby LOST IT! He couldn’t even hold her hand at first! He was so overwhelmed with emotion…he had even told me as we were walking back from the Groomsmen portraits “I still can’t believe I get to marry her…that she chose me!”…witnessing these moments is the most precious thing, and an incredible honor.
As Colby was trying to pull it together, his dad saw him and brought over a couple of fireball shots for them to take together! It was actually a really sweet father/son moment. And it did the trick! He was finally able to hold her hand, but asked that she go first (they prayed over each other). It was one of the sweetest First Touch moments I’ve witnessed!
The Ceremony wasn’t any less precious either! Colby still lost it! His reaction to seeing his Bride, Melody walk down the aisle was perfect.
They got blessed with a GORGEOUS day I might add, with just a touch of cool in the air.
After family portraits and some S T U N N I N G husband & wife sunset portraits (which Melody did BAREFOOT haha! And KILLED it!), we headed inside to get the party starteddddd!!
The evening was a blast, the music was poppin and the drinks were flowin!
They also included a Grand March, and if you aren’t familiar its such a fun way to get the whole party involved. Everyone lines up and there are two in the front that lead it, the bride and groom behind them, then the parents and then the rest of the party! You follow the leader around the whole place into different formations ending with the bride & groom in the center of a large circle. All of the guests circle the couple as they dance, randomly coming in to what I can only describe as a 100 person bear hug! haha! It’s so fun to watch!
The end of the night came with a sweet last dance alone inside and a super fun sparkler exit.
Melody & Colby we are so happy for you, and were so honored to be a part of your day! We wish years and years of wedded bliss!!
