Sierra & Brad’s Tiffany Blue & Orchid filled Summer Wedding at The Inn At Quarry Ridge in Bryan, TX
To say this Summer Wedding at The Inn At Quarry Ridge was a perfect day would be an understatement! From the Groom having fun splashing around in the pool with his Groomsmen, to the girls having a blast getting pampered upstairs, it was both equally beautiful and laid back…the exact way they wanted it. These two will always have a special spot in my heart…we hit it off from the moment we met at the Tipsy Bean (RIP) in College Station, to pulling our tables together at a recent event so we could chat as friends…I just love this couple!
This blog took entirely too long to put out as they are coming up on their One Year anniversary this July! But better late than never right?!
HOW THEY MET
Sierra and Brad met in August 2012, at Blinn Junior College. On their first day of college (FRESHMAN YEAR!), Bradley went up to Sierra in a courtyard and asked to take her picture for a project for one of his classes. She said “yes,” and the rest is history!
Seven years later, surrounded by family and friends, Bradley got down on one knee at a barbecue cook-off… and the planning began!
Sierra and Bradley dreamed of a relaxing and fun July wedding, and it was important to Sierra to plan an event that fit both of them. Sierra describes her style as being whimsical and country; and Bradley being more modern than she is- so their wedding came together to be a “fancy country” (and absolutely breathtaking) wedding that took place at the gorgeous Inn at Quarry Ridge! They loved that they were able to book their venue for the whole weekend through one of their packages, and that the venue offered two wedding coordinators for the day of. They were able to stay Friday through Sunday afternoon, just relax, and know that everything was taken care of
Their wedding invitations were created and designed by Emily Smith with Black Dog Services, and she definitely brought their vision to life with a dark charcoal grey shimmer trifold, with the gorgeous laser-cut detail on the outside. The rest of the invitation suite featured their wedding colors, using tiffany blue and peach colored florals.
Sierra looked stunning walking down the aisle in her bridal gown and veil by Kenneth Winston, found at Love and Lace in Navasota, TX. Did you know that Love and Lace has bridal accessories available for purchase too?! Sierra was able to find her cathedral-length veil there and her bridal earrings. Her sequined Betsy Johnson shoes had the perfect pop of “something blue”- and were also a perfect fit for their color scheme!
Sierra and Bradley did something super non-traditional at their ceremony, which I always think is AMAZING!!! The pastor who married them was Bradley’s pastor, and he was able to travel to Bryan to perform their wedding ceremony for them. Sierra wanted Bradley to be the very first one to see her, obviously! Since they decided not to do a First Look, they asked all of their guests to stay seated and close their eyes as Sierra walked out of Stonehem Hall, towards the aisle…I’m literally holding back tears thinking about how sweet this moment was…when Brad saw her I couldn’t hold them back as it was obvious to anyone looking at him that he was overwhelmed with the beauty of his Bride.
The Ceremony was so sweet and their vows were complete before we knew it…leaving us with the most INCREDIBLE light for portrait time…y’all know I’m a sucker for that good light!
Sierra and Brad had Goat’s Mobile Catering serve their dinner, and they also provided a BlueBell ice cream truck for them and their guests…I mean you can’t go wrong with ice cream…but they went the extra mile with that Blue Bell goodness! After dinner was served, of COURSE they had to open the dance floor with the Aggie War Hymn- what else could be better for two Aggie graduates?! They partied the night away to a playlist put together by Crossroads DJ, and ended the night with a last dance all to themselves, which is such a great way to unwind at the end of the night and just breath it all in. The room empty with glasses scattered about…it’s just the two of you with your whole lives ahead of you, basking in the last moments of one of the best days of your lives…
Sierra’s advice to future brides? “Choose a venue that you can truly feel relaxed at and that allows you to have the whole weekend. Meet all of your vendors. Almost interview them and make sure they fit with your style and personality. When it came down to who we chose, it was because we had a connection with them and really felt like they could be a part of our lives for more than just the wedding day, we wanted life long friends and people to add to our family!”
