I promise I will get back to my normally scheduled tips and pretty pictures! But today is a special day, and this feels like a great day to update all of you lovely people who care to even follow me!
Today my kiddos went back to school. And while none of them are going to any grade that in and of itself is seemingly important…every year is such a precious milestone and memory to me that every year is important!
Today I officially have an 8th grader, 6th grader, and a 3rd grader!
How cute are my littles btw?!
In preparation for this upcoming school year, I made some goals. I had 3 personal goals to accomplish before the first day of school…and I did it!
First Goal: Hire a part time Virtual Assistant (more on what this means at a later date!). But the basics are, I needed someone to help me with a few tasks. You may hear from her once in a while if you are a client of mine! She will be helping me with some client communication! Her name is Shelby, and she’s a RAWKSTAR! I have absolutely adored having her work for me!
Second Goal: Hire an editor. For those not in the photography world, basically I’m hiring someone to do my editing for me, especially for weddings. They learn my exact routine (in this case she will come and learn from me personally), this way she is copying my exact style and you will still get exactly what you expect! I inspect the images once they’re done to verify that they meet my standards of editing, and voila! This should do two things.
One. I will be able to deliver your images much faster as my editor will be responsible for the editing, and I won’t be juggling that plus all of the other day to day operations of running a business, and shooting in between, oh and raising kiddos, and being a wife…whew! That’s a lot going on you see! So this is one thing that can help me SERVE you, my clients, better! Which is my ultimate goal, always!
Two. This will help free up my time so that I can focus on serving you as my client to the best of my abilities, and also give me the ability to have more time to serve my family better. It is going to help me get a little better balance.
Third Goal: Find a babysitter for Harrison. This work at home thing is no joke. It’s a tough job and one I have found hard to balance. Towards the end of the school year I realized I really needed someone to come over just twice a week so I could get uninterrupted work done. I am absolutely sure I will be working in between here and there (ahem, like now haha), but this will greatly reduce the time in which I will have to feel torn in between home life and work life. This will make my work time much more efficient and I feel, again I would be able to serve my clients and my family better this way! The incredible thing about this goal…the hubby found me someone! She starts tomorrow and I am almost giddy I’m so excited!
Today feels like new beginnings to me. AND it’s on the day a solar eclipse will be partially visible to us here in the BCS area! I’m so excited for what the future holds not only for our little business, but also for our family.
What are some goals you have crushed this year?! Any that you still need to make happen?
