Caitlyn’s STUNNING Bridal Session in Nacogdoches, TX
Why I haven’t blogged this session yet is beyond me!! It is one of my favorite Bridal Sessions to date…oh who am I kidding, I love all my bridal sessions! But this one was seriously GORGEOUS and I cannot wait for you to dig into it.
Caitlyn contacted me simply asking for information on an Engagement Session and Bridal Session, I then asked her if she had a Wedding Photographer yet…she didn’t. BUT she said, they were getting married in Florida (you may remember Caitlyn & Dustin’s Wedding on the blog earlier this year), and I immediately said I TRAVEL! And this began an amazing journey with this sweet girl!
Instead of waking up at 4am that morning, to drive to an early morning Bridal Session, I was able to stay with my close friends in-laws who happen to live in Nacogdoches!
First, my friend hit the jackpot with her mother in law! I arrived to snacks galore, including a plate of brownies! Seriously the hostess with the mostesss!!
Second, this meant I wasn’t near my home or my equipment, I brought what I needed. And for the first time ever, I only brought just what I needed…as in only ONE camera body. Just seriously didn’t think anything of it!
Well ladies and gents, this is why I have back up equipment, and a back up for that too haha!
When we got to our first location, I pulled my camera out and I gasped in horror.
My viewfinder was cracked! I couldn’t see thru it!
But my live view worked. So y’all, I shot this whole session in LIVE VIEW MODE!
And my gorgeous bride Caitlyn deserves an award for how un-phased she was by this! She just shrugged it off and completely trusted in my ability to make her session amazing regardless of the obstacles. I ADORE her for this!
For all of you holding your breath, or wincing in pain knowing the hardship it would be to have to take and/or send my camera in to be fixed…quickly after I left the session Chris called me (I had texted him a picture of it in a panic) and told me, “oh hey, your viewfinder isn’t cracked…it’s just shut…”
YOU GUYS!! One I was so relieved, and Two I couldn’t believe I hadn’t even considered (in my panic of course) that there could be any other reason for what looked like a cracked viewfinder!
And he was right. It was perfectly fine, just shut!
It was quite an eventful day, but I am so thankful for the beautiful portraits we captured.
Starting at a sweet little chapel, and then moving on to the Azalea Gardens on the SFA Campus
