A Beautiful South Texas Wedding At The Venue on Church Street | Cuero, TX
Amber & Cody were so fun to work with at their Engagement Session, that I knew their Wedding was going to be one for the books!
It happened to be our first Wedding back after a long break in Weddings. We could not wait!
When you work in Weddings like we do, you crave those gorgeous details, the sweet brides, and the mushy gushy feelings you get to watch unfold all day long.
When we arrived at The Venue on Church Street, I couldn’t wait to see what the inside looked like. I had been there once before, it is where we started at Amber’s Bridal Session, and had seen how really cool it looked on the inside. I just knew it was going to be gorgeous all dressed up, and I was right!
It was a perfectly sunny, warm day. I walked upstairs to the girls getting ready room, and saw Amber with her bridesmaids chit chatting and having a good time getting prepared for the main event.
Amber, even without her gown on, looked amazing. She had obviously been pampered to perfection by Celina with Beauty by Celina!
Cody looked so dapper in his suit that looked perfectly tailored, from The Bridal Rail. He was so happy and ready to meet his bride at the alter.
But guys, the thing that stood out to us was the Ceremony. Originally, Amber’s grandfather was supposed to officiate the Wedding. But sadly he passed away before their day came, and Amber’s Uncle stepped up to the role.
He started to speak, and then proceeded to recite the most beautiful poem he had written for them. It incorporated the two of them, their story from the day they met to his hopes for their future. It brought tears to our eyes, and a sense of strength given for this marriage to last.
These are the types of ceremonies we love to be a witness to. A crowd was gathered around because there weren’t enough seats in the Ceremony area, and you just knew these two had a support system that is not lacking.
They shed a few tears, and laughter, exchanged their vows and sealed it all with a kiss.
If you’ve ever been to a Southern Wedding, you may have been witness to The Grand March. We’ve photographed many Grand Marches in our time and I honestly had no idea there was a significant meaning other than it was just a fun elaborate dance that the whole place participated in…until literally TODAY!
I was scrolling thru Instagram and I came across a post from The Bridal Rail (where Cody got his Suit!) and they posted the meaning of the whole dance:
How cool is that?! I just love a good tradition.
Amber & Cody we were so honored to be there to capture your day, thank you for inviting us along for the ride!
