Ellen & Cameron’s Classically Romantic Wedding at Ashton Gardens North
As I waited for the guests to clear out after the Ceremony, Cameron & Ellen’s Wedding Coordinator turned towards me and said “That was the most romantic thing I have ever heard.” I looked intrigued, and she proceeded to tell me “As they walked out thru the doors, Ellen turned to Cameron and said ‘I’ve never been so happy as I am right now’”. Que the tears y’all!!
To say these two are in love would be an understatement. I remember thinking how adorable they were as we sat at Starbucks the first night we met. Hearing their story, how they met at an internship, fell hard and had been together ever since.
Then getting to photograph them in their recently purchased new home for their Engagement Session, getting to glimpse into their lives. They were easy to photograph, they’re love just exuded from them. And their Wedding Day was no different!
They chose to do a First Look, and I just loved that when I told them I wouldn’t interrupt them until they were ready, they took that to heart. They didn’t rush, they spent those precious moments really engaging in each other. And while I couldn’t hear their conversation, I could tell they had shut the world out and in that moment it was just the two of them, excitedly anticipating what was about to happen.
Their Ceremony included a tradition I had never seen before! They had 4 different things to taste: A Lemon, Vinegar, Cayenne Pepper, and Honey. This tasting was supposed to represent the different facets of a Marriage. The different emotions they could experience during their journey together. It was supposed to remind them during the hard times that there are still good times, and while they are hard to endure while they are “tasting” them, they come to an end and if they work the sweet (honey) and passionate (cayenne) would outweigh the sour (lemon) and bitter (vinegar). I loved this representation and reminder.
Their Reception was beautiful, and fun! And we certainly enjoyed capturing Cameron & Ellen have a blast with their friends!
Ellen & Cameron, thank you so much for choosing us as your photographers! We were honored to be there and wish you many blessings!!
I loved that Ellen used her grandmothers garter! It was the most well made garter I had ever held!
