Emily & Nathan’s Beautiful Windy Wedding at the Central Library in Austin Texas
Emily & Nathan’s Wedding was super special to me. Not only was it just really cool at the Central Library in Austin, but Emily is my cousin!
We started the day at the hotel they were getting ready at, the Hotel Van Zandt. It has so much character, and was the perfect backdrop to capture some of their details…like Emily’s stunning vintage Opal & Diamond Engagement ring.
When Emily got in her dress I couldn’t help but think how gorgeous my sweet cousin is. I also LOVED that she chose a cape instead of a veil! I felt like it completely fit her, and was just beautiful!
Once we got them all ready, we did a First Look in the lobby of the very busy Hotel Van Zandt, and then followed that immediately with heading outside for a few pictures. The wind was a challenge but, we made it work! We even headed up to the roof for some portraits up there!
After that, Emily & Nathan really wanted to go enjoy a drink together right before their Wedding Ceremony, so we hopped in a Lyft and headed to the Le Polotique.
Y’all…this place is precious!! I definitely need to go back!
And they were so sweet and so excited for Emily & Nathan. They even brought them a complimentary glass of champagne! They toasted, then we each got another drink. I highly recommend their Macron Margarita! It was SO GOOD!
We got done with our drinks and headed out the door walking over the 2nd street bridge straight to the Central Library.
As Emily walked thru the doors, her dad was there and thankfully I had my camera ready and got a few First Look pictures of her dad seeing her for the first time. I love those moments. My Uncle Clint is one of my favorite people, and I just loved getting to witness that moment.
Originally the plan was to have their Wedding Ceremony in the back courtyard area. But it was a little chilly and was definitely windy. So we changed the plans and had the Ceremony inside, which was still beautiful, with a wall of windows overlooking the bridge and the courtyard.
Nathan had his guitar ready and waiting. He chose to sing a song to Emily as she walked down the stairs towards him, and it was amazing. His voice…he is incredibly talented.
The Ceremony was perfect. They said their vows, there were some laughter, a few tears and then the KISS! Ten minutes later Emily said “Did that really happen?! Are we really married?!” Yep Em, you and Nathan are HUSBAND AND WIFE!!
And I literally couldn’t be more happy for them!
For their Reception, they invited everyone to their favorite BBQ place, Micklethwait Craft Meats that they had reserved…and they even had Vegan options for our family not only for dinner but she also had Vegan Cupcakes for us!! It was so good, and I for one was just so thrilled that there was something my kiddos could enjoy and not feel left out. It was just such a sweet gesture, and it really meant a lot to us.
Emily & Nathan, I really am so excited for the two of you. You seem to fit so well together, and Nathan I am just so thankful that Emily has found someone as kind hearted and wonderful as you. Enjoy the journey, love each other well and remember the little moments that make you smile.
Love you both!
