Our house has been full of germies for what seems like weeks! When your life revolves around taking care of littles, you tend to get lost in the space time continuum! But now we are somewhat over the hump, and my children are back in school I am so excited to connect with the world around me again!
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. And I love that my job allows me to do this! I love going all over Texas (I would love to go anywhere in the world!) and getting to do what I love for others who are in love!
Not long ago we were in Galveston for the Wedding of Nichole and Dan.
Dan is a fireman in Galveston, and Nichole is a teacher. Isn’t that the sweetest?! Both servant hearted, even into their professions!
As we drove in, the storm clouds looked threatening, everything was gray, and the air began to smell like the sea.
I love the beach, I love the smell of the water, the sand, and the sound of the waves crashing against the sea wall. I was excited just to be near it.
The getting ready room for the bride was at Moody Gardens Hotel. Chris dropped me off and he left to go meet up with the guys.
I walked into the hotel, stepped into the elevator and was on my way. I couldn’t wait to get started. This is one of my favorite times of a wedding day. It feels like the calm before the storm. I am able to see all of the things that will make this day come together. The little things, like little pieces of décor, the rings, the dress, and the flowers. It is almost like putting a puzzle together. You are handed a box of things that are all special in each of their own rights, but it is my job to put them together in combinations with things around me that make them shine! The bride is so excited at this time of day, and has begun to be pampered! She’s walking on cloud nine!
As I walked into the room, my breath is a bit taken…it’s a gorgeous suite with a whole wall of windows! I was so excited about the gorgeous natural light flowing thru the room!! The bride came in, and she was already stunning. She was so ready for the wedding to begin!
As we transitioned to the Garten Verein, where the Wedding took place, I had my eye on the clouds. We all just crossed our fingers that the rain would hold off.
People began to arrive, taking their seats in the white chairs, the aisle lined with elegant white flowers, all pointing towards the place where the bride and groom would come to stand. And above that, a gorgeous chandelier placed there especially for the day. The setting was perfect.
They chose this particular venue for it’s oak trees. It had impressive oaks in its lawn, creating a gorgeous park that would be the backdrop of their ceremony.
The began to walk in, all looking quite dapper in their traditional Scottish Kilts. Even the ring bearer wore one, while holding a ring pillow made from fireman jacket material. A wonderful homage to Dan’s profession.
And then she appeared. Led by her father, who wore a top hat and looked so proud of his little girl. She seemed to glide towards her groom. They met at the alter, eager to become man and wife.
After the ceremony the celebrations began! There were toasts, and cake cut with a firemans axe, and dancing! It was a great evening of fun, all wrapped up with an exit by glow sticks!
Dan & Nichole, thank you for allowing us to serve you! We loved being a part of your big day and wish you many years of love and happiness!
