On your Wedding Day, the last thing I want you to be worried about is the details I need to be photographing! This is why every bride I have receives a complete guide to all things Wedding, including details to have prepared for me!
I want you to be able to rest assured knowing that you have already put everything together and all you have to do is hand me over a bag or box full of all the goods!
Taking the time to document all of your special little details is a joy for me. I get to capture the sweet and precious things that most people may never even know played a role in your day. Your jewelry, flowers, invitations, even things like your grandmothers brooch…they all play a role and I want to document them for you.
In case you are wondering what I suggest right now tho…
The Dress
Veil/Hairpiece
The Rings (all three)
Your Shoes
Bouquets/Bouts
Jewelry
Perfume
Invitation Suite (two sets)
Old, New, Borrowed & Blue
When I arrive at your venue, I first come say hi to you as the Bride and introduce myself to your Bridesmaids. I then will want to take all of your precious details to go and spend some quality time making sure they are captured just perfectly.
I normally recommend having everything in one spot easily available for me to just grab and go!
FLOWERS
When it comes to the Bouquet/Bouts, I always ask that the flowers are delivered to the same place you are getting ready. This way I can have them to photograph! I also ask the florist to leave extra pieces for me so that I can use them to style things with! Little flowers, petals, ribbon etc helps me weave the story together with colors and textures.
RINGS
Traditionally the Maid of Honor would hang on to the Grooms ring and the Best Man would hang on to the Brides ring… but we have begun to shake up the “traditions” a bit as an industry! We want to have the time to properly document your gorgeous Wedding Set. There are a few reasons for this!
-One is obvious…cause they’re just pretty!
-Two may surprise you…Insurance. If something were to ever happen to your Wedding set you would have a professional portrait of your rings to be able to hand over to the insurance company.
-Three is the best…Heirloom. Your rings are your first heirlooms as a family. One day your grandchildren, great grandchildren, or great great grandchildren will love seeing the perfect circles that your rings made showing the unending love between the two people that made it possible for them to even be here. They are a beautiful symbol of love. I want to capture that.
PERFUME
This may not seem like a big deal…but I encourage you brides to buy a brand new scent never worn before! Maybe even splurge a bit on this and buy something really nice. I know for me, my memories are often tied to smells. This can tie your memory to a scent that you can wear on special occasions. It can bring you right back to your wedding day. The flutters of excitement you felt, the sheer joy and emotion…
INVITATIONS
Some of you may think…huh? Why do I need to bring those?
I was just recently going thru some old photographs at my moms and found a copy of our Wedding Invitation. I hadn’t thought to save one at the time, but my mom did…and I am so glad she did! I got a little teary eyed as I looked at this precious reminder of the day we said our vows… You will want them included in your details, they begin to tell your wedding story, and on a practical note you chose them based on your Wedding Colors/Theme etc. They tie your day together! They will carry an emotion with them I promise!
