Photographers, do you work at trying to give your clients a personal experience? When I first started shooting weddings I just looked at it like a big shoot. No frills no fuss no muss. I possibly shot their engagement session, and then showed up on the big day and did my very best to capture their day and tell their story.
But something felt missing. I wasn’t making huge connections with my couples. And I wanted to pamper my client’s; I wanted to know them so that I could tell their story best.
So today photographers, I am telling you 3 ways that I provide a unique and personal experience for my couples!
- In person consultations (or Skype for out of towners!)
I try to meet each potential client in person. I do this for multiple reasons. One I want to be able to sit in front of a client and have an actual conversation! I want to hear their voice, see the way they react to each other, and I want them to be able to do the same with me. My preference is to meet with both Bride & Groom. I also do this because I want them to know that I invest in my clients. I carve time out of my day that may or may not pay off, and I am willing to do this to give my clients a personal experience. One where they feel well taken care of.
- Client Management System
Maybe you are someone who enjoys spreadsheets, and are just naturally super organized as well as a creative…so you’re a unicorn. GOOD FOR YOU! This girl however, well, I’m a HOT MESS! Haha! OH gosh guys, before the days of having a system I was just trying to keep my head above water while trying to keep up with everything! I don’t even know how I did it, looking back now!
Once I found ShootFlow my life was literally changed! This system keeps up with everything from questionnaires, emails, important dates, vendors, family members, bridal party and the list goes on! When you start shooting 10+ weddings a year you need something to keep things organized!
This system helps me give my clients the best possible experience. They can rest assured knowing that I will be on top of things (and it makes me look super organized…shhhh no one needs to know the real crazy!).
- Wedding + Engagement Guide
This is one of my very favorite things! I provide each of my clients, once they book, with a Wedding Guide that is customized for my photography! If you don’t know about it yet, I HIGHLY recommend looking at Katelyn James Wedding Guide Template. It is amazing and easily customizable. You will have to learn a bit of InDesign but not a lot!
I also send out an Engagement Session Guide. This is huge! It makes such a big difference when you direct your clients! And I cannot recommend Amy + Jordan’s Template enough!
Now you know 3 of the things I do to create a personalized experience for each of my clients! I hope this has been helpful!
