The day of Shannon’s Bridal Session it was threatening us with rain.
My family and I had actually made the few days prior to and after a little mini vacay, nothing fancy, just got a little airbnb right outside of the Woodlands in Houston, TX for us to just get away from all the normal…highly recommend doing this once in a while!
The airbnb we were staying at was roughly an hour away from Pine Lake Ranch, where Shannon’s bridal session was scheduled.
As I left to head there we were texting about the weather, and Shannon, the go with the flow girl she is said “Let’s do this! Rain or shine!”…and that’s what we did!!
Thankfully the rain held off, we had a few sprinkles here and there but nothing crazy! And we had so much fun!!
Now girls, I know you may be thinking…in her dress!! What about it getting wet? Or was there mud?!
Yes! It got a little wet. Yes! There was a bit of mud.
But we were super careful. Made sure to pick that dress up as we walked, placed it carefully when we stopped and didn’t let her drag it behind her.
When you are planning your bridal session, if you are planning it with an experienced Wedding Photographer (ahemmmmm MEEEEE!) then you should be in good hands! I take all the precations!
BUT, there are some situations where getting a little dirty on the bottom is unavoidable (even if you had a sheet under…which I don’t recommend as we have to tuck it so much so it doesn’t show it becomes pointless anyway)…so in those cases, I recommend getting it cleaned AFTER your bridal session!
A good cleaner can get almost anything out of a dress!
Thankfully we didn’t have to worry about any of that! We took all the necessary precautions and it worked in our favor!
Enjoy these beautiful portraits of the gorgeous Shannon!!

The Farmhouse is always a gorgeous backdrop, with its beautiful blank slate of white walls and beautiful landscaping. But the beauty of The Farmhouse doesn’t compare to how beautiful Natalie was in her gorgeous Haley Paige gown from Coreena’s Bridal! When I arrived for Natalie’s Bridal Portrait Session I was blown away by how stunning she looked! She was breathtaking.
Bridal Portraits are a fave for so many reasons, I encourage you to consider them if you are a Bride! It’s such a special time to get to put your gown on, get your hair and makeup done and test out your florals! I mean who doesn’t want a stress free environment to walk around in the gown you have been dreaming of since you were a little girl?!

Doing what I do means I get to see people profess their love to one another in so many different ways. Each time being the perfect way for each couple.
And Jessica & Ryan’s Wedding was just that.
There is just something about getting married on a secluded piece of property in Texas, where a bit of a hike (or a ride on an ATV) is required to get to the Ceremony spot. Being surrounded by nature, a running creek behind you, anticipation in the air.
I loved the little moments Ryan had before Jessica arrived to the Ceremony location. Laughing with his good friend and officiant, embracing his grandmother, and taking selfies with friends. Everyone was so excited, knowing these two were incredibly perfect for one another.
The Ceremony was beautiful. The vows heart felt. And the cheering ensued as the two exchanged their first kiss as husband and wife.
These are the moments I live for at every Wedding.
When I first met Jessica & Ryan it was via Facetime. I was sitting in the Barnes & Nobles Starbucks, trying to not be too loud…trying being the key word!
As we began to talk about how they met, where they were getting married etc. Ryan and I realized we had so many friends in common! The people he was still friends with from College, were some of my people in high school! It is so funny at what a small world we actually live in!
After talking to them, I remember thinking “gosh I hope they choose me”, the way they talked about their Wedding seemed so fun! And it was going to be out at the Vick Country Pavilion, where one of the owners is one of those friends from high school (who was also going to officiate)! Thankfully, they did choose me!
Jessica & Ryan, I was so incredibly honored to be your Wedding photographer. Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to witness and capture your love.
We wish you nothing but the very best in your Marriage and life together!
Welcome to the Married Kids Club!!
xoxo,
Rachel

Emily & Ross’s Engagement Session was one for the books!
These two live in Oklahoma City and while they were planning for a Beautiful Summer Wedding at The Lodge At Country Inn Cottages in Fredericksburg, Texas …they wanted their Engagement Session to reflect their home town.
So I booked the cutest AirBnb with the cutest instagram CHEERSTOTHEDAYOKC that you NEED to check out if you are planning a trip to OKC…and caught a quick flight and spent a fun day with these two!
We were supposed to walk all over downtown and just find places as we go (which is always super fun!) BUT it was a high chance of rain!!!
Emily and I immediately started working on a plan b as soon as I arrived.
And Y’ALL!! Did you know they have the most beautiful Botanical Gardens called Myriad Botanical Gardens…and you can do sessions inside for FREE!!
We decided the Botanical Gardens was where we needed to start!
I had so much fun walking thru all the gorgeousness with them. They have this amazing bridge/walkway above the gardens that was right next to the greenhouse walls with THE MOST INCREDIBLE natural light coming in! The windows, which were made for diffusing the light to be just right for all of the plant life…diffused it JUST RIGHT for us!
After we had gotten our fill there…we decided if the weather was cooperating we would try to get some downtown.
And thankfully the rain decided to hold off, except for a few little drops here and there, and we were able to get some fun ones walking around downtown.
They were so sweet and took me out to dinner that evening after, and we had so much fun getting to know one another.
Getting to spend some really good quality time with them made their Wedding Day that much sweeter (because yes…I am posting this wellll after their Wedding🤦♀️ and a little over a year after their session! Catching up yall, catching up)
As I arrived on site I was welcome with Lainie and a few of her best gals as they were walking around and looking at all the elegant details coming together for the day. Lainie had gotten all of them the cutest PJ sets to wear as they got ready for the day, and they certainly looked cute and comfy!!
We said our excited hello’s and hugged, and Lainie couldn’t wait to show me what she had prepared for me!
I love to start with the details, and Lainie not only had everything ready and waiting she had also purchased a velvet ring box that went so perfectly with the colors for the Wedding!
Y’all I cannot tell you how much I love the details from this Wedding. The velvet linens in two tones throughout the hall, the open air Ceremony space, the stunning florals, and even a hand painted portrait of Lainie & Daniel standing in front of the Hochziet Hall! So many beautiful things to look at!
Winter Weddings normally signify cold weather, but y’all, even though it was January it was the perfect temperature! It was just slightly cool, and absolutely amazing for this beautiful wedding day.
This elegant winter Wedding was one for the books and I hope you will enjoy it!
