The traditional wedding absolutely has a special place in my heart. The beauty of a gorgeous church Ceremony, or Venue dressed to the nines.
But when a couple says they want their wedding to really represent them, and their plans are less than traditional…well I gotta tell ya, I am all for it!!
I’ve known Daltons mom, Natchia for years! We met Natchia & Kenny (her husband) right after Chris and I got married. We went to the same church, and we were in the same small group together. These two are salt of the earth, super fun and amazing!
So when Natchia called me ONE to tell me Dalton was getting married, and TWO to see if I could shoot the Wedding…I said SIGN ME UP!
Then she said, “Rach, this wedding isn’t going to be ordinary… they’re getting married at our favorite Muddin’ ranch (Mud Creek Off Road Park in Jacksonville, TX), and Heather wants to do a ‘wreck the dress’ sesh right after the reception!”
My Response: UMMM hello! YES!!! That sounds amazing! I am THERE!
I had never met Dalton before, and had only seen him and Heather on Facebook thru Natchia, so we planned their engagement session and some time after to talk wedding stuff!
Heather and Dalton are absolutely adorable! He had her giggling, and we had so much fun at their Engagement Session on Kenny & Natchia’s land.
Their wedding day arrived, and as we drove up I just couldn’t believe how absolutely beautiful this East Texas Ranch was. It is there specifically for those who like to take their ATV’s out to go mudding and camping. It was an early ceremony, 10am, so we arrived at 7:00am! Which you KNOW was hard for me! But it was so worth it!
The day was beautiful, the sun was out and we were excited!
They got married at the top of a hill, under a gorgeous set of trees with the sun peeking thru.
One of my favorite moments of their ceremony was when they said their vows. They chose to keep them private, and whispered them to each other. I just thought it was such a sweet way to do this.
After the ceremony, and portrait time, they headed back to camp for BBQ, cake and fun!
Y’all, their cake! It was so fun! But don’t take my word for it, scroll down and check out all the things!
Congrats Heather & Dalton! We are so excited for you to begin the journey into marriage!
